Who are we and what do we do?
Dublin Indoor Sports (DIS) aims to provide and promote various indoor sporting activities and events in the Dublin area. We aim to get people active and playing a sport on a regular basis throughout the year in a no-nonsense and friendly environment.
The sports that are offered are open to both male and female and are aimed at all age-groups at different levels of experience. Leagues are run almost every day of the week to suit all needs.
DIS was set up in September 2004 and a month later ran its first ever soccer league on Sundays. In January 2005, it expanded to organizing soccer games a couple of nights during the week. DIS now offer a range of sports, which include netball, soccer, basketball and touch rugby. Plans are being made to introduce other sports such as volleyball, badminton and cricket, as well as introduce sports to children from the age of 8.
Outdoor Touch Rugby leagues were introduced in 2005 under TOUCHRUGBY.IE which is a DIS owned organization. TOUCHRUGBY.IE is the only touch module currently running in Dublin. Check out the website at www.touchrugby.ie.
